tiny microphone "home" [11 Jul 2008|12:28am] my album, "home" is out on best kept secret. i had no idea that it was out until i started getting messages from those who bought it. you can but it here: http://www.indiepages.com/shop/index.html since my last entry, i bought a fender rhodes... from joan of arc! it's so fab. today one of my lorimer sound bandmates put on a demo of mine at work, and one of his co-workers popped her head in and was like, "what's this? this is good." she was surprised to know that it was our band. having strangers like my music is really nice. i think i'm starting to feel like a musician now!

things [02 Dec 2006|07:07pm] [ mood | okay ] [ music | love is all ] education: i graduate in two weeks. i am not freaked out yet. i don't know if i should look into getting a "real job" i might go to law school. i want to throw up. alarm magazine: i'm pretty much working for free. at least i'm going to be published (with a byline) in the next issue. i'm also interviewing the ponys for a feature. our office calls vice magazine frequently. when asked about their thanksgiving, an editor (?) said, "put some stuff in my nose i probably shouldn't." god i'd love to work for vice. music: with lisa in new york, i need a new band. if you're into novelty records, know who the swans, the sapphires, and what cameo parkway is, i want you in my new band. tedd asked me to be in a noise band with him and jake. that sounds pretty neat because noise bands can write songs about going to the toilet and it would be fine. my marc jacobs pear: i finally have it. now i need a new designer item to covet. my birthday: is next week. along with tedd, eric, and aric. we are going to ravens on saturday around 10:30 pm. it's on clark st. it would be nice to see some people i haven't seen in a while. i am turning 23. what the hell? i should delete my myspace. free time: i don't know what to do with it. i've succumbed to livejournal, and that's lame. ♥

today is the day [05 Sep 2006|08:38pm] [ music | yo la tengo ] school started today. finally...my last semester of college! i'm taking 2 classes wheeeee then... 6 months off! then LAW SCHOOL (??? a la my parents wishes) ugh today i had to write an essay that began with "the biggest problem bush has to face is..." oh man. anyway... woah [10 Apr 2006|12:28pm] i don't quite understand how i can procrastinate writing about the simpsons and their cultural impact on society. it should be interesting, but i just don't feel like it. five weeks of school....booooo i think i'm dying my hair back to black after germaine's wedding. wow! my first wedding...i don't know how these things work. lisle and i went to the wluw record fair it's so disappointing to look through thousands of crappy records (so much barbara streisand!) record collectors are nerds. but i found this really neat devo bootleg called "sing if you're glad to be devo" ooooooh starlette canvas recording is done and my, oh my it's pretty cool. ok i have to write this thing now. interview at 4 p.m. schedule interview with andrew from minty fresh records. interview with mike at 7:30 david coming over at 10 man, journalism sucksssss yah yah that is all. 2 ♥

[29 Apr 2005|01:15am] [ music | life without buildings ] this is my new obsession: eeeeeeeeeee !!! soooo snuggly! ummm hello. i have like, two paragraphs left to write for this paper. i hate when i do this...like i get past the hump and it's almost over and then i go on livejournal and i've wasted like, 20 minutes. i could've been done by now! i never noticed how many art/photography communities there are on this thing, it kinda makes me hate photoshop a little. my reporting professor says i'm too ambitious. apparently, i've taken up a story that would require 2 or 3 reporters. ugh. he made us watch the president's press conference today. how on earth do you report on something that makes no sense? i kept wanting to throw stuff at the tv. political journalism must be so frustrating. i should've just majored in art. gee, i wish i had something interesting to say but i don't. 2 ♥

in class... [21 Apr 2005|07:27pm] i think that my professor is keeping us here for the sake of keeping us here and not letting us out early, which is kinda crummy cos if i left class right now, i would be able to watch the oc. i need to write another proposal for a local news story. i need ideasssss.... apparently, i (along with most of the class) don't understand the concept of news. this class is so dumb. errr..i'm bored, and aim doesn't work on this computer, and my computer screen is facing the professor, so it's really hard to be discreet about this. his crown keeps falling out of his mouth when he talks; i thought he was drooling. i didn't take a nap today, so i'm a little grumpy. boo boo 4 ♥

why is it so hot today? [18 Apr 2005|04:54pm] [ music | duo 505 ] dear livejournal, i've accomplished a lot in these past few weeks. i moved out of wrigleyville i moved into logan square (which was a complete disaster and consisted of our truck breaking down, and then being illegally parked, and now we have to pay for parking tickets.) painted the old apartment painted some furniture quit urban outfitters (!!!!) started working at sanrio downtown (best job ever) had super snuggle fun time with lisle ! took some midterms, which i did pretty awful on had a sleepover with lisa lisa, which is always fun cos i see her, like, never i dunno...some other stuff i'm really really totally broke right now. it kinda sucks i'm currently working on a 6 page spread on mod fashion and andy warhol movies and trying to write an article about social networking a la friendster (i am hardcore) i'm becoming a hello kitty fanatic. apparently, i have it in me. my favorite is 1975 kitty. im gonna start collecting hello kitty dollhouses. man, i should be studying for my mass media midterm but instead i'm gonna write some song songs i haven't done that in a while. i don't know where to find those kool aid bursts that come in the cool plastic bottles with the twisty caps. i really want some orange ones, please. love, kristine 13 ♥

swingin' for the fences [14 Apr 2005|11:00am] i had to entertain the cable guy for about 2 hours. oh god. he noticed all the hello kittys by my computer and guessed my favorite color was pink so awkward. i offered him tea. i hope i don't fall into this internet trap again. if it weren't for me having to go to class right now, i'd be looking for hello kitty collectables on ebay. i am obsessed. hm i took out my jazz collection the other day and can not stop listening to gordon goodwin and the glenn miller orchestra and duke ellington. soooo good. i'd write more, but yah...i have to go to class. classy classy classy byebyebye 8 ♥
